A man from Wollert has tested positive for coronavirus.
The Department of Health has launched a full public health response after the man in his 30s returned the positive test result today.
The man recently returned to Australia from overseas and completed hotel quarantine in South Australia.
He arrived in Victoria and returned to his home in Wollert on Tuesday, May 4.
He developed symptoms on Saturday, May 8, and was tested yesterday, May 10.
The test returned positive this morning.
The department said urgent further testing is being arranged to confirm the diagnosis.
In the meantime, the case is being treated as positive and exposure sites are being verified.
The man is isolating at home, and his primary household close contacts are isolating, being interviewed and will be urgently tested.
The department said it is working with interstate counterparts to determine the likely source.
