Woman allegedly more than twice the legal limit in Thomastown

A 44-year-old woman has had her car impounded and her licence suspended after allegedly being caught drink driving on the Hume Freeway.

Police received numerous calls about a Toyota Rav 4 driving erratically on the freeway near Thomastown about 4.20am on Sunday.

Police said the vehicle was intercepted in Thomastown, with the driver returning a positive evidentiary breath test of .144.

The woman, from Casey in the ACT, had her car impounded for 30 days.

She is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving, driving in a dangerous manner and other traffic related offences.
