From Wednesday, April 14 until Sunday, April 25, parents and children are encouraged to take a break from screens and venture outdoors to connect with the local environment.

Whittlesea council will be hosting a free bush explorers event on Tuesday, April 20 at Gumnut Park and playground, Donnybrook.

Mud pies and stick stews will be on the menu, and children will have the chance to explore, create, imagine and discover nature.

The event will run from 9.30am to 11.30am, with no bookings required.

It is open to children aged 2-5 years and their parents or guardians.
