A man has been shot by police in a Tullamarine carpark after allegeldy ramming two police vehicles, while another man is in hospital with a gun-shot wound to his leg following an incident in Epping.
Police said a man and woman came to the attention of officers after they were seen acting suspiciously in the carpark of the McDonald’s on Mickleham Road, Tullamarine just after midnight.
It is alleged the man accelerated and drove his car directly at police as they got out of their car, ramming two police vehicles, and resulting in one of the officers shooting the man in the shoulder.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man, in his 30s, was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The woman was arrested and is expected to be interviewed by police later today.

Police are investigating the circumstances around an incident in Epping which left a man with a gun-shot wound to his lower leg.
Police believe an altercation occurred in a car park at the rear of shops on High Street near Rufus Street about 4.30am.
The unknown offenders fled the scene.
The Epping man, believed to be in his 30s, was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The Armed Crime Squad are investigating.
