Teens charged with kidnapping man at Thomastown car wash

Two teenagers have been charged with carjacking and kidnapping a man as he washed his car at a service station in Thomastown.

Police said a 25-year-old Lalor man was washing his car at the Dalton Road service station about 11.30pm on June 26, when he was approached by two boys.

Police allege the boys were armed and threatened the man, before forcing him into his car and left with him.

Police said the teens stopped the car near Northgate and Macquarie drives and allegedly assaulted the man, throwing him out of the stationary vehicle.

The offenders fled in the victim’s car, a black Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.

The man walked to a nearby fast food restaurant and contacted police.

He sustained minor injuries to his face and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police found the car at a Dandenong shopping centre on Thursday morning.

They arrested a Dandenong boy, 17 and a Reservoir boy, 16. Both have been charged with aggravated carjacking, false imprisonment and kidnapping and have been remanded to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
