Police are searching for a man they believe stole petrol from a Broadmeadows petrol station last month.
Police have been told the man’s unregistered dirt bike broke down on the Pascoe Vale Road off ramp of the Western Ring Road on Wednesday, December 12, about 6.05pm.
Police said the man walked to a petrol station on Pascoe Vale Road and filled a jerry can with petrol. He left without paying.
The man returned to his bike, filled it with petrol and rode off.
Police attempted to intercept the dirt bike, but the man rode through a red light to evade police.
Investigators have release an image of a man they are keen to speak with about the incident.
He is about 20-years-old, Caucasian and with a slim build and blond hair. He was wearing a blue Nike T-shirt and black Adidas shorts.
