Stolen cards cashed in

Police are searching for a man they want to speak to about the theft of credit cards in Mernda last month. It’s believed the offender broke into a car parked at a house on Borrack Crescent about 5am on February 12. He stole credit cards from the car and used them later that day at a shopping centre in South Morang. He’s described as tall, thin and Caucasian in appearance and was wearing a light green checked shirt and dark green cap. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

High noon for bunnies

Hume council will run a rabbit control program, including baiting and warren fumigation, at a number of council reserves in Sunbury from March 16 until April 3. Emu Bottom Wetlands, The Nook, Bicentennial Park, The Parkway, Emu Valley, The Glade
and Albert Road Nature Reserve and Bulla Cemetery will be targeted. Residents are being asked to restrain pets when visiting treated reserves at this time.

Cops seek Epping attacker

Whittlesea detectives are seeking a man following a stabbing in Carlisle Drive in Epping on February 15. It is believed the man was trying to break into a car parked on the street just before 1am. The car owner, armed with a baseball bat, appeared and confronted the man. The offender pulled out a knife and a scuffle broke out. The owner of the car was stabbed in the torso but received non-life threatening injuries. Call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333.
