Police seek witnesses to Truganina fight

Two people were allegedly stabbed during a fight between a large group of people in Truganina on Sunday, January 27.

Residents living in the surrounding streets reported there was a heavy police presence and forensics crew on site until about midnight. Some roads were closed as police carried out their investigation.

A Victoria Police spokeswoman said police were investigating “reports of a fight between a large group of people” in the area.

The spokeswoman said police were called to Marquands Road just after 3.30pm, where they found a man with what is believed to be stab wounds. He was taken to hospital.

“A second male presented himself to hospital with what appeared to be stab wounds and a third male with head injuries, all non-life threatening,” the spokeswoman said.

She said most people had left the scene before police arrived.

“Detectives are speaking with a number of witnesses and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined,” she said.

Anyone who has information about the brawl, or who witnessed suspicious behavior in the area is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make an anonymous report online at www.crimestoppers.com.au
