March 21, 1979

A State Laboratories complex will be established at Werribee at a cost of $10 million. The Premier, Mr. Hamer, said last week that the centre would eventually incorporate all Government laboratories which are now located at various sites around Melbourne.

March 22, 1989

Work on the $6.3 million Forsyth Rd Overpass is expected to start within the next week, Transport Minister Mr Jim Kennan, announced last week. Theiss Contractors has been awarded a $1.45 million contract to complete bridgeworks and a reinforced earth walk by December.

Increased use of the Point Cook airbase had raised noise levels to an unacceptable level, angry residents claimed last week. Mr Steven Comben, a Point Cook resident for 14 years, said his family had to endure increased engine noise from flying planes using the base day and night in increasing numbers.
