January 25, 1978

Land bounded by the railway, Werribee Street and the Werribee River may be utilised by the council for creation of a parkland recreation area. This is the land where the old grain mill was situated, plus adjacent land, at the Werribee Street crossing.

January 27, 1988

The Werribee River could lose its status as one of the highest producers of bream in the State because of the threat posed by fishermen, many believed to be illegal immigrants from Vietnam, who have netted hundreds of fish during the past seven weeks. Police and Conservation, Forests and Lands officers have arrested and charged about 28 offenders since July, last year.
