Mill Park library helps touch-screen toddlers wise up

Children as young as two are becoming iTots – new media-savvy toddlers – through a Mill Park Library program, including Angela Pomeroy’s children Sofia, two and Elissa, five.

Parents and toddlers discover over four sessions how to connect their iPads to big screens to enjoy storytelling, songs, ebooks and apps, as well as playtime.

Library manager Tania Barry launched the program after noticing parents were using iPads to occupy toddlers. “I discovered it’s a useful tool for pre-school literacy, creative play and school readiness,” she says.
