Woman rattled by Doreen stalker

A WOMAN claims she was stalked as she walked her dog at night in Doreen.

The middle-aged woman and a woman in her 20s claim they were followed by a man in a car in separate incidents on the same night in Doreen.

Police Inspector Bob Dykstra warned people to pay attention to their personal safety and said police investigated any reported complaints.

The woman, who did not want to be named, said a white sedan followed her at 8.30pm on October 3 in Overland Drive and then into Flaxen Hills Road.

“A friend’s daughter was driving and was followed by a white car on the same night, about an hour after my experience,” the woman, in her 40s, said.

She reported the matter to the Mill Park police, who are investigating.

“He followed me in his car, passed me and took a good hard look at me,” the woman said.

“The car went further down the street and turned into a driveway and backed out to face towards me; its lights were on high beam. I crossed the road and said hello to a friend to avoid him.”

The car followed her to Flaxen Hills Road and again turned into a driveway, reversed and faced in the direction the woman was walking.

When she returned to the roundabout at Overland Drive and Flaxen Hills Road, the car was still there and followed her through the roundabout.

“I went to a house and he followed me into the driveway and reversed out as I made it to the front door,” she said. “He wasn’t looking for house numbers or delivering invitations – it was all very odd.”
