Disabled  Mill Park teen win $5000 ‘standing’ grant

A disabled Mill Park teenager is one of six people to share in almost $30,000 in grants from the John Maclean Foundation, which helps young Australians in wheelchairs.

Troy Van Heer, 16, has the most severe level of cerebral palsy and is unable to walk. He has received $5000 to pay for a device to help him stand.

Troy is seated most of the day, which can lead to deterioration of his hips and spine. The electric standing frame will help him improve his strength.
