New Whittlesea residents are invited to the council’s Welcome Expo this month. Acting council chief executive officer John Francis said the expo was a chance for residents find out about education, employment and housing opportunities.
“We know it is tough moving to a new area, but it is our job to make this easier,” he said. “Council has community support workers in place to assist new residents to become active members of our community.”
Also represented will be Centrelink, Whittlesea Community Connections, Spectrum Migrant Resource Centre and Victoria Police. The expo will be at the council offices, Ferres Boulevard, South Morang, from 10.30am to 1pm on Friday, October 26.
