Adult shop robbery
Police are investigating a robbery at an adult shop in Thomastown. The robber, wearing a black hoodie, sunglasses and gloves, went into Club X in Settlement Road just before 4pm on September 8, according to Detective Senior Constable Gary Jenkins. He said the man, with a slim build and about 185cm tall, threatened the shop assistant before escaping with cash. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Morang clinic works
The construction of the $10 million South Morang GP Super Clinic has reached halfway and is due to open in December. The clinic would focus on child health, intellectually and physically disabled patients, and providing prevention and management of chronic diseases, Scullin MHR Harry Jenkins said.
Whittlesea postal poll
Whittlesea council elections will be run entirely by post for all residents on the electoral roll, not only ratepayers. Ballot packs will be mailed to voters in the second week of October. Those who will be away should get packs redirected to an alternative address or request an early postal vote.
