Kerbside recycling to be expanded to Whittlesea commercial, industrial properties

Whittlesea council proposes to expand its kerbside recycling to include commercial and industrial properties to recover 1000 tonnes of material each year.

The proposal is part of Council’s Draft Municipal Waste Management and Resource Recovery Strategy 2012-2020, available for public comment until August 20.

“The potential expansion of the kerbside service to include around 2500 commercial and industrial properties has the opportunity to recover around 6800 tonnes of recyclables materials by 2020,’’ council spokesman Peter Ali said. Details: visit www.whittlesea.vic.gov.au.
