Fire strikes Wollert factory

A Wollert brick manufacturing plant suffered significant damage after a fire last week.

The CFA said it took five trucks an hour to contain the blaze at 6am last Wednesday in Brick Makers Drive. Station officer Ken Houston said the fire involved a large brick conveyor that covered multiple levels in the factory. Trucks from Craigieburn, Epping, South Morang, Greenvale and Wollert attended, as well as support from Sunbury and MFB crews.
