Police are promising a further 15 protective services officers to patrol stations on the Epping line after commuters welcomed the first five, pictured with Sergeant Peter Fraser.
Inspector Bob Dykstra says commuters had told the officers assigned to patrol Epping Station at night that their presence was long overdue.
“There’s been a great interaction with the public with officers getting to know the regulars.” He says the extra 15 officers will patrol station platforms, car parks and concourses at Thomastown, Lalor and South Morang.
