KINGLAKE West’s Joshua Ross was part of the Australian team that finished seventh in the men’s 4×100 metre relay. Running in at a time of 38.43 seconds, they were effectively last given Canada was disqualified from the event.
Ross ran the anchor leg in the relay.
The event was all about the showdown between Jamaica and the United States, and the race lived up to its billing. With Usain Bolt running the final 100m the Jamaicans won in a world record time of 36.84, some two-tenths of a second ahead of the United States, who recorded a PB with 37.04.
