HOMICIDE squad detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found at his Doreen home last night.
Two female friends of the 28-year-old went to visit him just before 9pm and discovered his body inside the Kiora Avenue house in Doreen.
The women’s terrified screams alerted neighbours, who phoned police.
A Victoria Police spokesman said the man had suffered serious injuries, but did not detail what they were or the cause of the man’s death.
However the man is believed to have suffered severe head injuries.
Police sealed off the home last night as detectives examined the house and spoke to neighbours.
One neighbour, Matthew Herdel, told radio station 3AW that he heard a woman’s terrified scream when she discovered the man’s body in the usually quiet neighbourhood.
‘‘It’s so quiet and peaceful. We’ve never had any disruptions before. We didn’t hear anything until the girl was yelling out,’’ he told the radio station.
Detective Inspector John Potter, from the homicide squad, will make a public appeal for information about the man’s death at midday.
