Free stuff for teens

Teenagers in Whittlesea can keep busy during the holidays with a grab bag of tickets and vouchers. The $18 bags include a movie ticket, a swim pass, a bowling pass, a karting pass, and discounts and food vouchers. Students must bring proof of age, school and local address.

Bags are available on June 27, at Plenty Valley Community Health, 40–42 Walnut Street, Whittlesea from 3.30pm–5pm and Laurimar Community and Activity Centre, 110 Hazel Glen Drive, Doreen, 6pm–7pm and June 29 at EDGE, Shop MM1 Westfield, 415 McDonalds Road, South Morang, noon to 4.30pm. Do it for the birds

Residents are invited to the first Mernda Villages Conservation Reserve community planting and information day.Bushland staff will assist with planting indigenous shrubs and semi-aquatic plants to help develop small bird habitat along a Plenty River tributary. June 17 Learn to be hospitable Whittlesea residents can gain a certificate II in hospitality from Preston Reservoir Adult Community Education with an 11-week course at Darebin Youth Resource Centre, level 1, 23 Edwardes Street, Reservoir, or on Thursdays at Merrilands Community Centre, 35 Sturdee Street, Reservoir, from 9.30am to 3pm.
