RESIDENTS at Arilla Retirement Village have found a new way to keep both mind and body active, ditching the usual water aerobics and leisurely walks in favour of some military marching.
The weekly marching class teaches residents a new routine each week, in a game of memory and coordination which is good for mind, body and soul as well as helping with joint pain.
Organiser Janette Temple, who was a calisthenics dancer in her younger years, says the marching is influenced by calisthenics and is very popular with residents.
