Parks Victoria has taken over management of the 70-hectare Gresswell Nature Conservation Reserves in Bundoora.
La Trobe University managed the Crown land until June last year.
The area includes the Gresswell Forest Wildlife Reserve, the Gresswell Hill Reserve and the Gresswell Habitat Link.
