Giving students the write stuff

MORRIS Gleitzman, one of Australia’s funniest and best-loved children’s authors, dropped in at Marymede Catholic College in South Morang to inspire budding writers including Amilia, Copper and Taylah.

Gleitzman, whose work includes Bumface, joined author Randa Abdel-Fattah, whose young adult novels are published in more than 15 countries. The award-winning authors were part of the college’s inaugural writer’s festival last week.

The school’s year 5 students have been studying Gleitzman’s adventure story, Boy Overboard, and were able to get the author to sign their copies.
