Doreen: Man seen running with shotgun in Garden Road

Two men, one armed with a shotgun, were on the run in Doreen this morning.

Epping police were called to Garden Road around 1.30am after a motorist witnessed the men running with a weapon in hand.

The men were described as “young” but little else is known about their appearance at this stage of the investigation.

Sergeant Ray Camilleri said the one-hour-and-a-half search involved the dog squad and eight police units who conducted an extensive street search.

No offenders were found.

Sergeant Camilleri urged the public not to be alarmed, as it wasn’t “just a random thing”.

“There’s no one walking the streets with a gun [anymore].”

“If the public have any information whatsoever please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”

More to come.
