Two stabbings within two hours kept Mill Park detectives busy on Monday morning.
About 5.30am, a 26-year-old Lalor man was stabbed while walking from his car to a house in Epping.
The victim was visiting a woman in Lido Court when a man approached him in a car. The driver got out of the car and began talking to the Lalor man before stabbing him in the stomach and forearm and stealing his phone and wallet.
The offender then rammed the victim’s parked car before driving away.
Police said the victim was taken to Northern Hospital and treated for minor injuries. He has since been released.
Less than two hours later, another man was stabbed while standing outside a house in Clarke Street, Thomastown.
According to police, the man was attacked by two men with a firearm and a machete.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was stabbed multiple times. He is now in a stable condition and assisting police with their enquiries.
Mill Park Senior Constable David Meneilly said the incidents were unrelated and detectives were still busy identifying the connection between the victims and their perpetrators.
