Cash help for athletes

Young athletes and sporting teams that need financial help to take part in events or buy equipment can apply for a grant through the Local Sporting Champions program. The grants, $500 for individuals and $3000 for teams, help pay for travel, accommodation, uniforms or equipment. Cops need help to find robber

Fawkner police want public help to identify a robber who threatened a woman in front of her infant son on January 6. The masked man entered an Indian grocery store on Pines Way in Craigieburn about 4pm brandishing a knife and demanding cash. He had a heavy build and was wearing a fluoro yellow and blue or black high-visibility top, light pants and white runners. Pair spends up on stolen card

Banyule police are looking for two men who went on a spending spree with a stolen credit card in Mill Park and Fawkner on November 17. Hundreds of dollars were spent at convenience stores, fastfood outlets and licensed venues. One man is Caucasian, in his early 20s with a slim build and a distinctive crucifix tattoo on his right hand. The other is also Caucasian and in his early 20s with a medium build, goatee beard and dark hair.
