Kinglake siege man surrenders, taken to hospital

A 10-hour siege in Kinglake has ended.

A man barricaded himself inside a house on Mountain Home Road about 8pm on Tuesday after police arrived to speak to him about an investigation.

It was believed the man was brandishing a gun.

Officers from the critical incident response team spent the night negotiating with the man until he surrendered about 6am on Wednesday.

The man was taken to hospital with self-inflicted injuries. No police officers were injured.
