Melbourne Victory players paid Northern Hospital’s youngest patients a visit last week.
The soccer stars, including Archie Thompson, Rashid Mahazi and Matthieu Delpierre signed autographs and offered coaching tips and words of support to patients and hospital staff.
Thomastown-based La Ionica Poultry was responsible for bringing the players to Epping.
The chicken company is one of the soccer club’s major sponsors and has donated more than $30,000 to the Northern Health Foundation in recent years.
La Ionica spokeswoman Pina DiDonato said the company was a firm believer in having strong ties with the community.
