Rivergum has already secured first innings points against Olympic Colts in the North Metro Cricket Association’s Jika Shield. Rivergum ended day one of the match at 0-123 after easily passing the Colts’ total of 80. Daniel Young was the main destroyer with 4-15. Lalor Warriors also look headed for victory against Preston YCW District. After restricting Preston to 101, the Warriors will resume at 1-60. A century to Ryan Docherty has Keon Park in a prime position against Darebin Chargers. Keon Park finished its overs at 8-282.

Northern Socials bowlers destroyed Donath’s batting order not once but twice on day one of their match in North Metro Cricket Association’s Quick Shield to take outright victory on the first day of the match. Sent in to bat, Donath soon found themselves in the field after being bowled out for 56. Shaun Newitt took a hat-trick in his figures of 3-1. Northern Socials made the total with ease and declared at 3-130, Glen Courts top-scored with an unbeaten 62. Donath was then bowled out for a second time, this time at 55 to see the game over with more than a day to spare. Rocky Sharma was the star bowler with 5-19. Elsewhere, Bundoora Park will resume its innings on 0-11 in chase of Preston Baseballers’ 9-312. Chris Dowell was the best of the bowlers with 3-72.

NWMCA

Gladstone Park will start day two of its clash with Pascoe Vale Central at 1-32 in the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association’s George Luscombe Shield. Made to bowl first, Gladstone Park restricted Pascoe Vale Central to 178. In the Vic Kyte Shield, the Northern Lions have a tough ask ahead of them. Sent in to bat by Campbellfield, the Lions were all out for 126. Campbellfield will resume at 3-87.

Darts

Da Wolf Pack was in top form against Watsonia Fill-Ins in the Northern Darts Association’s A-grade competition. Da Wolf Pack came out winners 9-2. Junction Coosts beat Westside Dockers 7-4, while the Reservoir Bulls and North Heidelberg Hawks won their matches 6-5 against Reservoir Dogs and Cramers Legends.
