A new and unpredictable Bundoora will take to the field in the Northern Football League next season.
After fielding a stable side over the last four years which has yielded two premierships in division 1, the Bulls have had a number of departures in the off-season.
Football manager Darryl Richards said the club was looking at younger players to fill the holes left by the departures.
“Most of the guys who are leaving are 28 and over and most of the new players are 25 and under,” Richards said.
“At the end of the [last] season, it showed we were lacking that youth.
“The players who are leaving the club have believed they have run their race at the club. Some of them have been at the club since under-19s and played 200 games.”
Among those leaving are former AFL players Cameron Cloke and Brayden Shaw, David Mitchell and Neil Gloury.
A further four players have joined division 2 side Thomastown.
“We stuck with the same side for four years and it got us two flags,” Richards said.
“We became pretty predictable with two key forwards [Cloke and another former AFL player Gary Moorcroft]. Now we will probably rotate a number of players through the forward line and no one will know who we are kicking to.”
Moorcroft, who is 39, will return for another season at the club.
He will be joined by a number of new recruits including Luke Simpson and Josh Whitehouse-Summers from Diamond Creek , Kane Slater, Brenton Keating, Josh Dimarco, Jack Philpot and Nick Grabowski.
The Bulls start training on Tuesday night.
