Celebrate music in Hume

The Hume Festival of Music will be held across the city from November 14-23, showcasing community cultural events and headline artists, both local and from farther afield. The 10-day festival offers 33 events at venues across Hume.

Wipe out racism

Help wipe out racism in Whittlesea. At a meeting tomorrow, 6-8pm, suggest ideas for actions to include in the council’s new anti-racism strategy. The strategy will outline a co-ordinated range of activities aimed at preventing race-based discrimination while supporting local Aboriginal and multicultural communities. Hume business breakfast

Victoria Police Chief Commissioner Ken Lay will speak at a Hume business breakfast on Friday, November 14, 7-9am. Hume mayor Adem Atmaca is encouraging people from industry and businesses to join this experienced public servant and speaker.

Safety tips for the fire season

Protect your home and family in the advent of fire – learn what to do before summer arrives and what to do if a fire starts. You’ll be better prepared by attending an Epping fire awareness session, Sunday, November 16, 10am-noon, at Lehmans Park. The CFA education bus will be there, along with fire trucks, kids’ activities and a sausage sizzle.
