Bump graduates celebrate raising a family

Pregnancy can be daunting for first-time mothers. But for single women expecting their first child before their 23rd birthday, it can be frightening and overwhelming.

‘Bump’, a program of the youth mentoring foundation Raise, is aimed at pregnant and parenting females aged 13 to 23.

The weekly mentoring sessions bring young mums together for monthly workshops and playground visits.

Steph and other young mums celebrated their Bump graduations at a ceremony and lunch in Southbank last week.

To sign up for the next Bump program, email jodie.harris@raise.org.au.

The group meets in Broadmeadows from 10.30am-12.30pm each Monday.
