Tullamarine has appointed Anthony Leydin as coach for the 2015 Essendon District Football League division 1 season.
Leydin was an assistant coach with premier division winner Strathmore this year and previously was senior coach of another division 1 team, Westmeadows.
He took the Tigers to a preliminary final in 2010.
Leydin replaces Ash Manning, who will coach Lancefield in the Riddell District Football League.
Manning took the Demons into this year’s grand final, losing only four games for the year.
In a statement, Tullamarine said it had interviewed eight applicants from across the EDFL and surrounding leagues.
“Anthony is excited to get the opportunity to join Tullamarine and will leave no stone unturned in order to maintain the high standards set at the club,” the Tulla statement said.
“He is also prepared to assist us in the development of our junior players.”
President Andrew Fisher told Star Weekly last week the club was focusing on re-establishing under-18 and under-16 teams.
