Bundoora RSL won its second match of the season in the Bowls Victoria pennant premier division, despite only splitting the rinks with MCC Kew Sports.
The rinks finished 2-2 on the RSL’s greens, but wins by 11 shots and eight shots on two of them carried the RSL to an 87-75 victory and 14 points to four.
RSL is now sixth on the ladder ahead of its clash with Moonee Ponds (1).
The RSL’s second side sits second on the division 1, section 1 ladder after a 97-78 shot win against Ferntree Gully (1).
The RSL won three of the four rinks to take home 16 points.
Whittlesea (1) remains on one win for the season, after not being able to match it with Keysborough (1).
Despite winning one rink and gaining two points, Whittlesea lost the shots 91-69.
Against Berwick (1), Lalor (2) made it two wins in a row in division 1, section 2 with the highest score for the day in that section.
Lalor (2) won three of its four rinks on the way to a 102-61 shot win.
Lalor (1) remains winless in division 1, section 3 after going down 97-56 and 18-0 against Moonee Valley.
Broadmeadows (1) beat Craigieburn (1) in division 2, section 2 at Broadmeadows where the home side won three rinks and split the fourth to get home 83-71 and 17-1.
Craigieburn’s second side won its match 78-75 and 14-4 against Clifton Park in division 3, section 2.
In division 3, section 3, Whittlesea (2) won against Kingsbury 85-71.
Whittlesea (2) won three of the four rinks to score 16 points to two.
It wasn’t a good day for Epping RSL (1) and Lalor (3) in the same section, both losing 18-0.
Epping RSL (1) lost to Diamond Creek 88-67, while Lalor (3) lost to East Ivanhoe 94-65.
The win has Whittlesea (2) fifth on the ladder, while Epping RSL and Lalor (3) are ninth and 10th respectively.
