Swimming is a skill for life.
Imagine not being able to enjoy the beach safely or swim at a friend’s pool party because you never learned this essential life skill.
State Swim
swimming schools in Caroline Springs and Craigieburn ensure children don’t miss out on the fun of being water-borne by teaching them to become strong, safe and competent swimmers.
“People socialise in and around water throughout their lives, that’s why it’s important to swim well,” manager Ben Robertson says. Additionally, recent research from Griffith University shows that children who learn to swim from a young age progress faster in motor, literacy, numeracy and oracy skills than those who do not.
“Our philosophy at State Swim is to keep children safe – not for the short term but the long term – by teaching them how to swim so they can get out of danger or avoid getting into it in the first place. Learning a few basic skills or relying on others to rescue you is simply not adequate. The most important survival skill anyone can learn is to swim well.”
State Swim provides learn-
to-swim programs for people of all ages and abilities, and each facility is purpose-built, using state-of-the-art technology, such as UV filtration, to provide the best possible environment. You will not find distracting playgrounds or members of the public using the facility during your child’s lessons.
The three core programs State Swim provide are
Swim ‘n’ Play for babies aged six months to four years; an eight-stage 400 Gold program for children to learn to swim 400 metres competently by the time they leave primary school, and the Health and Sport program for swimmers in a training environment.
“The State Swim program is based on decades of experience developed and perfected by owners David and Christian Urry,” Ben says. “It’s a skills-based program that allows children to progress at their own pace while being rewarded, extended and encouraged. The use of iPads helps the learning process – State Swim goes that extra mile to ensure your child has every opportunity to develop.
“Our instructors hold the appropriate certification and are trained by State Swim to deliver an excellent standard of swimming instruction. We believe our instructors are the best in Australia, and our customer service team provide friendly and professional service to each of our families.”
State Swim has lessons for adults, SWIMVAC holiday programs, in-term swimming for schools, lane-hire for physiotherapists or hydrotherapy and a swim shop at each location.
Families can start at any time and don’t have to wait for a new term to enrol their child. Family discounts are available for third and subsequent children, and using the unique make-up policy for children wh
o miss a lesson is encouraged, making it easier to schedule lessons around busy lifestyles and ensuring continuous aquatic education for children.
