Step into Spring: Challenge to walk to the moon

The young and not-so-young, including Shelley McCallum, Stephen Turner, mayor Casey Nunn, Lydia Cuce and Heidi Rule, are being encouraged to ditch their cars each morning.

Primary school students will be taking part in Walk to School Month and about 700 Hume workers have signed on to Step into Spring, a six-week challenge to walk a combined distance equivalent to going to the moon.

As part of the Healthy Together Hume initiative, employees of more than 25 agencies and businesses, including Anglicare and Hume council, have strapped on pedometers to count down to that blast-off moon moment between now and Sunday, November 16.
