Hume City has boosted its coaching ranks with Dean Hennessey joining the club as technical director.
Hennessey, who coached fellow National Premier League side Dandenong Thunder, takes over from Louie Acevski.
Acevski, who was both coach and technical director this year, will stay as coach of the senior side next year.
“Dean will oversee the coaching structure from under-12 to seniors,” club spokesman Ezel Hikmet said..
“His role will be making sure we implement the playing philosophy.
“He will oversee training and work with all the sides.”
Hikmet said the club wanted someone with Hennessey’s pedigree and had head- hunted him.
Hennessey, the father of City player Matthew Hennessey, has previously coached Green Gully.
“He’s a great coach and has also been involved in soccer in Victoria for 30 years,” Hikmet said.
“Louie is still young and Dean will be a good mentor for him.
“It gives us more experience behind the scenes.”
