Northern Football League stalwart Paul Harrison is returning to the league and will pull on the boots for South Morang next season.
Harrison, who played more than 200 games with Bundoora and played a season with Whittlesea, spent this season playing for Kilmore in the Riddell District Football League.
Lions president Brendan MacDonald said Harrison would not only take to the field but would also have a coaching role.
“He will be the playing assistant coach for the next two seasons. Craig Lambert is contracted for next season and will again be the senior coach. We need some experienced players to go with our young squad, and Harrison fits that.”
MacDonald said the club was actively chasing other players for next season.
“We’re looking for experienced key position players. We want to stick with the youth policy, but at the same time you do need some experience on the park.”
The Lions finished third this season and were knocked out in the preliminary final by Reservoir.
