TAC Cup
North Ballarat Rebels led by 29 points after 15 minutes of the TAC Cup qualifying final against Calder Cannons at Visy Park on Saturday, largely thanks to four goals by Jesse Palmer. The Cannons struggled to get the ball and when they did, they wasted it. But as quickly as the lead was established it was gone as the Cannons sent an ominous warning to the competition. They kept the Rebels to three goals for the rest of the match and kicked 23 of their own to win 25.10 (160) to 9.7 (61). Full story and pictures at www.northern.starweekly.com.au.
