A 34-year-old man from Meadow Heights, Oguzhan Gurkan, and Ozan Yusuf, 38, from Thomastown, have been charged with murder after a number of warrants were executed on Thursday morning by Homicide Squad detectives.
The two men appeared before an out of sessions court hearing, charged with the murder of Ben Monteath at Epping on May 17. They have been remanded in police custody.
Detectives assisted by the Special Operations Group executed five warrants at homes at Thomastown, Meadow Heights, Hoppers Crossing and Niddrie.
The charges follow the death of Mr Monteath at a Plowman Court property after a number of men allegedly approached the residence and fired shots towards the house just after 11pm.
A man has already been charged with murder in relation to Mr Monteath’s death.
