Craigieburn scored the first try but ended up losing 90-4 to Sunbury Tigers in Victorian Rugby League first grade on Saturday. North West Wolves were convincing 84-10 winners against Waverley, but Craigieburn forfeited against Sunbury Tigers in division 2.

AFL draft

Six Calder Cannons and three Northern Knights have been selected to be part of the AFL combine camp ahead of the 2014 draft on November 27. Cannons Peter Wright, Jake Lever, Matthew Goodyear, Damien Cavka, Touk Miller and Paul Ahern and Knights Jason Castagna, Kyle Langford and Reece McKenzie are among 96 players selected for the camp, which will run for four days.

TAC Cup

Calder Cannons overpowered the Murray Bushrangers in the second half of the TAC Cup match on Saturday, winning 17.12 (114) to 12.6 (78). The Cannons led by seven points at half-time before kicking away in the second half. Jayden Foster and Josh Cauchi both kicked four, while best-on-ground Touk Miller kicked three goals. Northern Knights thrashed Northern Territory 23.25 (153) to 8.3 (51), Reece McKenzie kicking seven.

Whittlesea Ranges lost 2-1 after a last-minute goal by Moreland Zebras in the National Premier League 1 on Friday night, while Hume City beat Port Melbourne Sharks by the same score.
