Werribee, Preston men killed in smash near Melbourne Airport

UPDATE: A three-car collision near Melbourne Airport on Wednesday evening that left two men dead and another in hospital with serious injuries is being investigated by Victoria Police’s Major Collision Investigation Group.

A 45-year-old Werribee man and a 43-year-old Preston man died at the scene while a 30-year-old Craigieburn man was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. A 43-year-old Sunbury man, whose car was the third vehicle in the crash, was not injured.

Leading Senior Constable Lee Thomson said police believed the Craigieburn man lost control of his blue Holden while heading north-west away from the airport on the Sunbury Road. His car then collided with two other cars about 5.15pm.

Senior Constable Thomson said police were investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

He urged anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
