All your health needs covered

Patients looking for a clinic that has a range of services under one roof and doctors who speak multiple languages will find Craigieburn Central Medical Centre meets those needs.

“Our doctors speak English, Farsi, Bengali, Hindi, Arabic, Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil and Sinhala,” director and nurse practitioner Leanne Boase says.

“We have male and female GPs assessing and managing the health needs of children, adults and the elderly on a daily basis.”

The new centre, which opened in March, provides general practice services, health assessments, immunisations, diabetes and chronic disease management.

Physiotherapy, exercise physiology, podiatry, psychology and massage therapy are also covered. There’s a dietician, paediatrician, pain specialist and cardiologist available; aged care management from a geriatrician and nurse practitioner; women’s health services; eczema and asthma care; pain, illness and minor injury management.

“Our locally owned and run medical centre has modern facilities, is family-friendly and designed to meet the needs of the local community,’’ Boase says.

“Our GPs and most of our medical specialists bulk-bill patients with no copayments necessary. Our allied health teams bulk-bill with a Medicare care plan.”

The centre has plans to deliver even more services, including shared care for pregnancy and dental services, later
this year.

“Our aim is to provide convenient, affordable and high quality health services

in one location,” Boase says.

The team of clinicians is headed by principal doctor Jagannath Chatterjee, who is joined by general practitioners Dr Sarfraz Kailani, Dr Mamdouh Melaik, Dr Khudeja Sahi and Dr Dharsheiya Surendran.

The doctors are supported by nurses, nurse practitioners, medical and allied health specialists, practice management and reception staff.

“We are all experienced and friendly. We are ready to assist patients with their needs, and referrals from other GPs or health professionals are welcome for our services,’’ Boase says.

“We are unique in how we are approaching things and hope the community can see and appreciate the difference.”

The medical centre is located at the new Craigieburn Central shopping centre, next to Amcal pharmacy.

Craigieburn Central Medical Centre, 340 Craigieburn Road, Craigieburn, open 9am-6pm Monday-Wednesday; 9am-9pm Thursday-Friday; 9am-6pm Saturday-Sunday. Inquiries: 8339 4555
