With new head chef, Sri-Lankan born Max Perera on board, Roxburgh Park Hotel is serving up fresh dishes from all over the world in its daily international buffet.
“Our international buffet is created by our team of five-star-trained chefs from around the world sharing their culinary knowledge,” Perera says.
“We have Fei from Hong Kong who specialises in Chinese cuisine; Feroz and Rambo from Fiji; Danny, our Chinese pastry chef who makes everything from scratch; Aman from India and Lee from Vietnam.”
Perera has 25 years’ experience as a chef – he started his early years in Sri Lanka and has worked at popular cafes and restaurants on Lygon Street, at the Templestowe Hotel and Manningham Club.
“Our dishes are 99 per cent halal and we have gluten-free meals to choose from, too. The dishes are bursting with flavours diners are sure to love,” Perera says.
Along with the international buffet, Roxburgh Park Hotel is celebrating Christmas in July, with turkey available for lunch Mondays to Fridays and specialty desserts daily. And there are senior discounts for lunch Mondays-Saturdays and dinner Mondays-Fridays.
It’s not just the food Roxburgh Park Hotel is known for; it’s also a great place for entertainment and functions.
The venue has a TAB, sports bar, gaming area, kids’ zone and function room.
Bingo fans can head down to the hotel for a game on Thursdays at 9.30am, while poker players can try their luck for free on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7pm. An on-site drive-through bottle also has weekly specials.
“We have more than 80 team members on board, all of whom are dedicated to great customer service. And we will be renovating soon to build a bigger function room with private bar for parties, meetings and other social occasions,” venue manager Karen Roosey says.
Becoming a member of the hotel will also bring about extra perks and, best of all, it’s free to join.
Roxburgh Park Hotel, corner of Somerton and Pascoe Vale roads, Coolaroo, opens 9am-5am daily. Inquiries: 9305 2900 or www.roxburghparkhotel.com.au
