Since he was five, Jackson Rudge has had his eyes set on the stage.
Now aged nine, the Sunbury Primary School pupil has made his professional music debut.
It was in Les Miserables earlier this month, with Jackson in the role of Gavroche, who lives on the streets of Paris. “He’s rough and he’s really cocky, and he never gives up,” Jackson says.
His mother, Donna, remembers her boy performing as a child: “He would sing and dance all the time.”
Jackson trains 15 hours a week at FlashDance Performing Arts in Sunbury, where he competes in dance competitions throughout the year.
Les Miserable is at Her Majesty’s Theatre until Sunday, October 26. www.ticketek.com.au
