Andy McDougall: Bundoora show a hand-in-glove fit for puppeteer

Puppets have fascinated Andy McDougall since primary school.

The Glenroy resident was a student of the Victorian College of the Arts’ inaugural diploma of puppetry in 2004 and has since worked on major productions, including The Hobbit and Walking With Dinosaurs, countless advertisements and film clips.

From June 10 to 12, McDougall will perform in Little Shop of Horrors at Parade College’s Rivergum Theatre in Bundoora.

It will be his 25th production of the show, but his first with youth theatre organisation Waterdale.

McDougall has created all the show’s puppets himself, including the exotic plant and main star, Audrey II.
