Hume council is offering cash incentives for farmers and environmental groups to improve the stewardship of private landholdings in environmentally sensitive areas.
Conserving our Rural Environment grants are available for weed and pest- animal control, revegetation works, materials and equipment, training and development, and community group activities.
Landowners with properties larger than 0.4 hectares and zoned green wedge, green wedge A, rural living, or conservation and farming are eligible to apply. Grant guidelines and an application form can be downloaded from hume.vic.gov.au Call 9205 2279.
