Whittlesea will continue to work on the finishing touches of its game, as it goes in search of its first win of the season in the Northern Football League division 1.
In a four minute period either side of half-time, the Eagles watched as West Preston Lakeside kicked four goals to take control of the game on the scoreboard.
That four minutes was the difference between the two sides with the Roosters winning by 19 points, 15.15 (105) to 13.8 (86).

Eagles coach Brad Dean said the Roosters were better able to capitalise on their opportunities.
“We were in front for 90 per cent of the first half and then they kick two late goals.
“We matched it with them in general play, but their [Roosters] ability to make the most of their opportunities in front of goal [was telling].
“Our use of the footy was better in some areas of the ground and we did what we value ourselves on during the game.”
He said Lucas Hobbs had about 40 possessions, while ruckman Jeremy Page was the most influential player on the field.
Dean said the side was still motivated, despite being winless.
“We have been working hard since November. There is a lot of pressure on the players coming into division 1.
“We are training hard, the standards are high and the players are motivated.
“If we can get reward for effort with a win, it’ll be more incentive for the boys to train harder.”
Meanwhile, Bundoora was also on the losing end in division 1, going down to Greensborough by 42 points, 18.18 (126) to 13.6 (84).
Greensborough flew out of the blocks with five goals to one in the first quarter and didn’t allow the Bulls to get back into the game after that.
Kent Delbridge was best for the Bulls with six goals.
In division 2, Mernda was too strong for Epping winning by 23 points, 16.12 (108) to 12.13 (85), while Lalor just fell short against Fitzroy Stars losing 19.13 (127) to 16.19 (115).
Thomastown continued its good start to the season, with a 120-point win against Parkside in division 3, while South Morang was too strong for Watsonia with a 29-point win.
