World Environment Day

Join National Australia Bank employees to plant 1500 trees for a wildlife habitat at Bulla Recreation Reserve on Thursday, June 5. The World Environment Day plant-out is part of the Victorian government’s Two Million Trees program. Lunch, tools and equipment will be provided.

Local photographer Andrew Haysom will exhibit his spectacular collection of photographs taken at Woodlands Historic Park for the next Hume Enviro Champions meet-up on Wednesday, June 11. Bring a plate and meet others interested in living sustainably.

Hume and Northern Happenings is for people in their 40s and 50s who live in the northern suburbs. The group has fortnightly functions. An information session will be held on June 13.

Salt at Sunbury

Bernard Salt, widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading social commentators, will speak at the Sunbury business dinner on Wednesday, June 11. Mr Salt is a high-profile Melbourne-based partner with KPMG, one of the largest professional services companies in the world and one of the Big Four auditors. He uses data on demographic and social change to interpret how society and business might evolve. His presentations have been described as energetic, edgy and often funny. The dinner will be at Pitruzzello Estate, 25 Deverall Road, Sunbury, from 6-10pm. Tickets at $60 or $50 per person for a table of eight, include a three-course meal. Drinks at bar prices.
